Life is Changing For Me

I applied for a job at Wal-mart. The job I have now will end either January or February. It makes me really sad because I have truly enjoyed this laid back job. My boss just cant keep paying me when we are doing no business at all. They may even close the office in January or February if things dont improve. Either way, it has come time for me to move on.

I got the job at Walmart today. I applied yesterday, interviewed and peed in a cup today. I will be working in electronics from 2 in the afternoon until 11 at night. This means I will HAVE to get a DVR to record my beloved TV shows. Once the pee test comes in, I will have orientation and then start work. We are looking at a week at the most before I start.

The problem is I have been taking pain pills for my leg. I have been assured that this will not be a problem as long as the prescription can be verified. It can. I have only taken like one a day in the evening time. So, there shouldnt even be that much in my system.

I will still work at the office part time until I start getting a check from Wal-mart. They hold back the first check and since they only pay every two weeks, I'm looking at a month before I even get a check. That is a bummer!

The job is listed as temporary also. Until after Christmas. But I was told by the manager that if I work hard and do a really good job there is a good chance they would keep me. God I hope so! I HATE looking for work! I really hope I like working there. I know I will like the electronics department.

Anyway, please wish me luck. I want this to work out so bad.

I will wish you lots of luck but you will do just fine. And I know it won't be temporary. I can just see you selling AC/DC CD's to all the gothic kids. Love it! And no worries about the pain meds, unless it's an abundant amount it shouldn't even show up. Wal Mart is huge but I highly doubt they pay for the extensive drug testing. You are always in my prayers.. Lots Of Love.

Congratulations! And Welcome to Walmart....
Good for you, Lynn. I hope that it works into a full time permanent job for you.
Will you be staying the same apartment, since it's attached to the business??

The business leases the building the apartment is in. Sooooo, I can stay there as long as the landlord doesnt get an opportunity to rent the entire bldg. But if he gets an opportunity to get the full price then I wouldnt be able to blame him. But he kinda likes me and I think I will be alright for a little while on the apartment. If Joe doesnt close up, I dont have anything to worry about.

Good luck (although I am a few days behind and it looks like you already got it!). I worked at Sam's Club in college and, for the most part, I liked working for the company (you will LOVE the new hire video where they make you watch the biography of Sam Walton!!).
